Common questions

What does this calculator include?

Federal income tax, provincial or territorial income tax, CPP or QPP, CPP2, EI, and QPIP in Quebec. It applies the federal and provincial basic personal amounts and the Canada employment amount, plus any surtax, tax reduction or health premium the province charges.

Is my salary information stored?

No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or saved.

Why does my pay stub differ slightly?

Payroll systems calculate per pay period and truncate at intermediate steps, while this calculates the annual position and rounds once at the end. Mid-year rate changes in some provinces can also make a single pay stub differ from the annual rate.
